The Cotton Burner 3 (2018) event t-shirt came in the year that Steve ‘Cleggy’ Harris was in full swing with Cranked Bikes, Bike Shop and I was moving to Australia (temporarily). Cotton Burner event was over three summer evenings and this was the third year running. The character had a ‘Wilko’ arm in plaster that harps back to a previous race where are mate ‘Wilko’ bust his arm. Helmet has ‘Bye’ on it and it’s hard to tell but there’s also a Kangaroo in the small flame.
The Cotton Burner races are Simon Miller’s invention and happens in his family woods just off the Camel Trail near Bodmin. Simon is always coming up with cool ideas to help get people together to have fun and racing. If you’ve read the rules for participating in Cotton Burner then you’ll see that fun is more important than performance. Simon is working on a damn cool evolution of the event for 2025. Hopefully he pulls it off. He knows I’ll always do whatever I can from here.
